Christmas or 圣诞 (shèngdàn) is almost upon us. While Christmas in China isn’t quite the same as Christmas at home, China does have plenty to offer in terms of holiday spirit.
One of the main things to kick off the holiday season are the Christmas Markets (圣诞市场 shèngdàn shìchǎng) in Beijing.
Whether you’re looking for gifts for friends and family or just want a festive glass of mulled wine, the Christmas Markets in Beijing will have you covered.

Rumble in The Jumble – Chilly Weather Get Together Holiday Bazaar
Every year there is a special Christmas edition of ‘Rumble in the Jumble’.
For those unfamiliar, every month the ‘Rumble in the Jumble’ market is held in Beijing.
Everything from vintage clothing, to books, to jewellery to baked goods are on sale.
The Christmas edition of this market is definitely not one to be missed, along with the usual vintage and craft merchandise there will be plenty of mulled wine and other festive treats on offer.
So throw on your Christmas jumper and enjoy the fun!
When: Sunday 19th December 12pm – 6pm

Rumble in The Jumble – The NightMarket Before Christmas
Well Christmas really has come early this year with not one but TWO Rumble in the Jumble Christmas markets!!
This is a special night market addition with a twist! Wondering what the twist is? Well you’ll have to get yourself to 4 Corners to find out!
There will of course be festive drinks on offer like mulled wine and hot toddies as well as delicious Christmas baked goodies on sale too.
Like all Rumble markets, there will be plenty of vintage and craft items on sale and of course plenty of yummy treats to help get you through the winter!
When: Friday 17th December 8pm – midnight
Where: 4 Corners, 27 Dashibei Hutong
Price: Free
Loreli Affordable Art Market – Christmas Edition
The Loreli Affordable Art Market are back for a special Christmas edition.
There will be all kinds of arts and crafts on sale from a range of local designers and independent businesses.
You can expect to see some established local Beijing crafts as well as some newbies.
And of course as with any Christmas market you’ll be able to enjoy a lovely glass of mulled wine and other festive beverages as you browse.
When: Sunday 28th November 12pm – 6pm

The Hutong Winter Fayre Christmas Market
The Hutong Winter Fayre is nestled right in Beijing’s historic hutongs in what was once a traditional courtyard home.
A number of vendors will be selling beverages and hot food up on the terrace.
Why not enjoy a warm glass of mulled wine whilst looking out over the Beijing rooftops.
Or enjoy some winter shopping downstairs with a range of products to choose from such as baked goods and chocolates, jewellery, handicrafts, paintings, homemade jams, decorations and much more.
When: Sunday 12th December 11am – 5pm
Where: 1 Jiudaowan Zhongxiang, Beixinqiao

German Charity Christmas Bazaar
The German Charity Christmas Bazaar or “Deutscher Charity Weihnachtsbasar” in German has now been running in Beijing for over 20 years!
The family friendly event includes free activities for kids, a chance to see Santa and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Along with this there will be over 50 vendors selling a range of both Chinese and European treats, crafts and Christmas decorations.
There will also be a choir performing seasonal songs, so what better way to kick start the holiday season and get yourself into the Christmas spirit!
When: Saturday 27th November 11am – 6pm
Where: German Embassy, 17 Dongzhimenwai Dajie, Chaoyang District
Price: 80 RMB for either a morning or afternoon ticket
CANCELLED – Unfortunately, the German Charity Christmas Bazaar has been cancelled as of 17th November due to restrictions in Beijing.

British Embassy Christmas Market
Held every year at The Ambassador’s Residence the British Embassy Christmas Bazaar is a must see.
The market takes place both inside and out so make sure to wear your thickest winter coat.
You can warm up with a glass of mulled wine and some hot food from one of the many food vendors.
For 2021 The British Embassy have teamed up with The British Chamber of Commerce to bring you an even bigger and better event!
There will also be a tombola and raffle where all proceeds will go to the Migrant Children’s Foundation.
When: Saturday 11th December 10am – 9pm
Where: The Ambassador’s Residence, 15 Guanghua Road

Black Expo Christmas Market
Next up we have a Christmas market brought to you by Black Expo. This is a platform dedicated to promoting businesses run by the black community in China.
“Join us for a festive and vibrant market experience with amazing vendors, great performances and surprises for all.”
There will of course be plenty of food, drink and you guessed it Christmas gifts on sale.
When: Saturday 11th December 12pm – 6pm

Price: 60RMB (includes a free drink)

Give a Present Christmas Market – Cafe Zarah
Cafe Zarah are hosting an anti-consumerism Christmas market focused on sustainable giving and ending “mindless holiday consumerism”.
There will be freshly baked Christmas cookies, German lebkuchen, homemade waffles and of course Gluehwine.
You can also browse the array of products on offer such as DIY handicrafts, zero-waste cosmetics, vegan cakes and much more!
There is also an option to leave a gift under their Christmas tree as a donation to the Beijing-based NGO “Migrant Children Foundation” (MCF) that aims to help disadvantaged children from migrant workers’ families in Beijing.

Beijing Flea Market – Christmas Edition
Next on our list we have the Beijing Flea Market Christmas edition.
This year the market will be taking place at Beersmith so enjoy a pint as you browse around and do your last bit of Christmas shopping.
The Beijing Flea Market focuses on locally made products from Beijing’s best and brightest artists, crafters, designers and food connoisseurs!
So what are you waiting for? Brave that Beijing winter cold and enjoy some festive fun!

Aotu Space – Christmas Art Fair
Last on our list of Christmas markets in Beijing we have the Christmas Art Fair at Aotu Space.
Here not only will there be gifts such as art, crafts, cards, candles, jewellery etc. on sale but there will also be some activity vendors too. Activities on offer are tarot, calligraphy and portraits.
Unsurprisingly, there will also be plenty of mulled wine available, or a variety of other drinks on offer if you are a rare individual who does not enjoy mulled wine!
When: Friday 10th December 5pm – 9pm, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th December 1pm – 9pm
Where: Aotu Space, 67 Beixinqiao Toutiao
